About Nicole Henderiks
Nicole
Henderiks-Kint (1964) Born and raised in Kloosterzande. She
lives in Heikant. Since 2008 she owns a studio where she works as a
freelance artist.
She has many drawing, painting and graphic courses and has specialized in
graphics, printmaking at the Art Academy in St.Niklaas Belgium.
In her work she puts down her surroundings, a fact seen by her eyes.
Nature is often the starting point.
Themes such as landscapes, shells, flowers and a still life in pastel and pen
developed but also in graphic techniques such as etching and
woodcuts.
Through sketches from her sketchbook and photos but also some material
she founds such shells comes to establish her work. She also
keeps everything. Dried hydrangeas, feathers, grass too numerous to
called.
Drawing with pastel and pen is a change for her because she then can
work directly and immediately see results while etching or woodcut still have
some preparation.
Working with pastels gives her the freedom to work with her hands, her fingers
are her brushes. It’s a pleasure to work with this material.
But the art and craft pulls her very much.
Etching, aquatint and varnish soft ground are recurring techniques in her work.
The etchings in color printing she comprises one pass. With woodcut she uses
often the reduction technique.
Besides her own work she also work in commission in different designs. She
designs and prints art cards in her studio. In addition, she gives regularly
workshops and art classes.
Her work is regularly on display in exhibitions in both galleries domestically
and abroad, art routes and in her studio.
Her paintings are for sale, and are in private collections as well as in the
Netherlands, Europe and America
